In our first year as an organization we set ambitious goals. First, to climb the East Buttress of Mt. Whitney outside of Death Valley, California. Standing at 14,505 feet with 11 pitches of vertical climbing this stands as one of the most rewarding adventures I've been a part of. Secondly, as our primary goal we ran the Conquering Kili campaign, to summit the roof of Africa at 19,341 feet. Words can't describe the life changing journey we went on over the two years to reach the gate of Kilimanjaro. The first several days took us through 4 separate climates on our way to base camp. At the anticipation of summit day, I was unable to get any sleep the night before and had to find another gear to keep pushing myself forward. Everything above 18,000' hurt, and my resolve and confidence was fading. Somehow, I was able to keep pushing , and you'll see the emotion of someone who could barely walk out his front door before come out as I reached the summit. Thank you for everyone who has supported and continued to believe in me as I continue to find new heights.
